Spring In Your Step

Need to add Spring to your step, or personality?  Try a drive around the older Denver neighborhoods and take a blossom tour, there has never been a prettier Spring in Denver!  Buzzing through Denver Country Club is not only a trip down memory lane but a close second to the Botanical Gardens display of Spring flowers.  This will fire all the senses and jump start that allery season, but what a show!
Best in show, however, is two blocks short of Washington Block and a half block closer to Heaven.  Touring through that "hood" I hesitated and stopped at a SOLD listing from a year back and found my delightful buyer battling the wind to tend to her spring planting.  Blew me away, and I am not talking the wind!  I knew that this creative and artistic Buyer in collaboration with her artist/mother muse would transform this bit of "old town Aspen" Victorian into a showpiece.

They began with transforming the free standing garage into a casita that also functions as an art studio.  Many of the furnishings in the casita were transplanted from the Santa Fe abode and guest house..think Grant Corner Inn meets Denver.  The casita is filled with original paintings by the Buyer/Owner's mother and contributions from other artists.  They added a fireplace tot he casita and a large palladium style picture window adding light that plays with the color of the art.

The gardens are both whimsical and intimate, with several cozy corners for morning coffee or late afternoon wine.  Each garden cluster plays art and sculpture with annuals and perennials.   Antique mirror windows hang from various fences to reflecting the garden beauty, doubling the aesthetic pleasure.  Enchantment at every turn.

What a lift, added to my day.  Not only the chance to see a transformation of delight and personality to a home that already had great architectural style, but a chance to visit again with one of the most warm and intelligent clients that I have had the pleasure to know.  Thanks for the Spring added to my step! posted: April 30, 2014 - Judy's Denver - Blog
