Looking Up!

Did you ever see Fred Astaire looking down at his shoes? Have you noticed that in dancing, the dancers lead with their heads, letting the feet go where the eyes go. A downhill skiier rarely looks at the skis or bindings; the eyes look forward allowing the rhythm of the bumps the energy to guide the skiier. The Dow hit 13000, things are looking up. The residential real estate market is also looking up! In Cherry Creek North, the stats for the year 2011 show that the price per square foot is steadily moving up. In Condominiums the low price per square foot was $139 compared to the high at $913 leaving an average per square foot price at $377. In the single family home category the low price per square foot was $302, the high was $855 leaving an average per square foot price at $424. In looking up and forward to 2012, there are still many great values in the market with low per square foot prices, but the inventory is low and sellers are gearing up for a brisk spring market. The timing for an upward Seller's market may correspond with an increase in interest rates. What does this mean? Look forward, move forward...start looking up!
